(CBS) Sam Colonna is the head trainer at Sam Colonna Boxing, located at 2600 west 35th street on Chicago’s south side.
In this interview, Colonna talks about his new gym, his top fighters, and important upcoming match-ups. Colonna is well known for training the highly controversial fighter, Andrew Golata. Specifically, I asked him to explain Golata’s tendency of having a meltdown during a fight by getting himself disqualified.

Skip to 8:30 and listen to assistant trainer Sam Colonna comment on why Golata continued to throw low blows against Bowe. In the second fight between Bowe and Golata a brawl ensued after Golata was disqualified for too many low blows yet again.
