(CBS) — The image of legendary Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino has taken a hit.
The New York Post is reporting the NFL analyst fathered a child in 2005 with a production assistant at CBS Sports and paid her to keep it secret.
Marino issued a statement saying, “This is a personal and private matter. I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then. We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved.”
The statement comes on Marino’s 28th wedding anniversary.
He says his marriage is intact.
Marino will be part of CBS’ super bowl coverage on Sunday.
