CHICAGO (STMW) – A teenage boy was shot early Saturday in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

The shooting occurred at 2:35 a.m. in the 5800 block of South May Street, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.

A 17-year-old boy was taken in “stable” condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County with gunshot wounds in the back and leg.

No one is in custody and Area South detectives are investigating.
