9 Wounded In Weekend Shootings

CHICAGO (STMW) – Nine people have been wounded in shootings across the city since Friday night, police said.

The most recent shooting happened about 10:35 p.m. Sunday in the 11800 block of South Halsted Street in the West Pullman neighborhood, police said. A 20-year-old man was taken in good condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with a gunshot wound to the right leg, police said.

About 10:20 p.m., a man was shot in the 4900 block of West Belden Avenue on the Northwest Side. Police said the man arrived at Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center about 10:15 p.m. with a gunshot wound to the back. The shooting was possibly gang-related, police said.

About 10:15 p.m. Saturday night, a man walked into Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers in Evergreen Park with a gunshot wound to the hand, police said.

The 34-year-old victim told police he was shot in the 4100 block of West 63rd Street and detectives were searching for a crime scene Saturday night, police said. The man was listed in good condition.

About 8:30 p.m. Sunday, a man was shot in the back in the 1500 block of East 71st Street in the South Shore neighborhood, police said. The 22-year-old man was listed in serious condition at Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, police said.

About 7:51 p.m. Saturday, a 40-year-old man was shot during an armed robbery on the South Side. The man was in the 2400 block of West 54th Street when he was approached by armed robbers who shot him in the back before fleeing, police said. The man was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.

About 2:35 a.m. Saturday, a 17-year-old boy was shot in Englewood. The teen was shot in the back and leg in the 5800 block of South May Street, police said. The boy was listed in “stable” condition at Mount Sinai Hospital early Saturday.

About 11:45 p.m. Friday, a 23-year-old man was shot in the hand in the 1800 block of South California Avenue in the Lawndale neighborhood. Police said the victim made it to Mount Sinai Hospital, about three blocks away, on his own.

Just before 8 p.m. on the Northwest Side, a 24-year-old man was shot in the arm, police said. The shooting happened in the 3100 block of North Sawyer Avenue, police said. He was taken in good condition to Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

About 6:05 p.m. Friday, an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 1300 block of West 110th Street, police said. The man was taken in “stable” condition to Roseland Community Hospital.

No one is in custody for any of the weekend’s shootings Sunday night.
