Kane Named NHL’s First Star Of The Week

(CBS) Patrick Kane was named the NHL’s First Star Of The Week, the league announced Monday.

Kane led all players with five goals as the Blackhawks went 3-0 last week. He now has at least one goal in five straight games and scored seven total on the team’s six-game road trip that came to a close Sunday night in Nashville.

Kane scored his ninth goal of the season against the Predators and is now second in the NHL with 19 points.

Dallas Stars winger Jamie Benn was named Second Star Of The Week, while New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur earned Third Star honors.
