CHICAGO (STMW) – A man was killed in a stabbing on the West Side late Monday night, authorities said.

The victim, thought to be in his 20s, was found in an alley in the 5000 block of West Erie Street in the Austin neighborhood about 11:25 p.m., said police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

The man, whose identity was not immediately available, was found dead when police officers arrived, Alfaro said.

A representative from the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the death.
