2 Juveniles Arrested After Break-In, Standoff In Midlothian

MIDLOTHIAN, Ill. (CBS) — Two juveniles were arrested early Wednesday in south suburban Midlothian, following a five-hour standoff with police after they broke into a cell phone store.

WBBM Newsradio’s Regine Schlesinger reports the standoff began around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, after police got a call about a burglary at ABC Wireless at 3328 W. 147h St. in Midlothian.

When they arrived, officers noticed someone climbing through a broken window, then saw two young suspects inside the store.

One of the suspects apparently had a gun, so police surrounded the store.

After trying to contact the pair for several hours without success, police finally went in around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, and arrested two juveniles.

A gun was confiscated from one of the young men. There were no reports of any injuries.

It was not immediately clear if the suspects had yet been charged.
