Man Killed In Washington Heights Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) — A man was shot to death Monday night in the South Side Washington Heights neighborhood.

Michael Powell, 24, was on the sidewalk in the 9100 block of South Ada Street about 5 p.m. when a shooter walked up and opened fire, authorities said.

He was shot multiple times, police said.

Powell was dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Area South detectives are investigating, but no one is in custody.
