(CBS) After ruling there was no risk he would flee to escape justice, Chief Magistrate Desmond Nair granted bail to Olympic runner Oscar Pistorius.
Pistorius was arrested last week and charged with the murder of his girlfriend, model Reeva Steenkamp.
According to a report, the judge said the state failed to prove Pistorius was a flight risk, and that even though the athlete has a history of aggressive behavior, the state failed to show he was likely to commit violence or interfere with state witnesses if released.
