Emery Named NHL's Third Star Of The Month

(CBS) Blackhawks backup goalie Ray Emery has been named the NHL's Third Star for the month of February.

While backing up Corey Crawford, Emery compiled a perfect record of 7-0-0 in February. In addition, he netted a goals-against average of 1.66 and .941 save percentage in eight games.

Emery recorded two scoreless periods in the Blackhawks' 3-0 victory over the Blues on Thursday night while relieving an injured Crawford after the first period.

The 30-year-old Emery is expected to get the start against Blue Jackets on Friday night.

Tampa Bay forward Steven Stamkos and Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby were named the First and Second Stars, respectively.
