BURBANK, Ill. (STMW) — Authorities are investigating after two people were found shot to death in a home in southwest suburban Burbank Wednesday.
A relative called police to the home in the 6400 block of West 83rd Place about 9:30 a.m., according to a release from Burbank police.
A woman, 80, and a man, 78, were both found unresponsive in a bedroom in the home, the release said. Both had been shot.
Officers found no sign of forced entry to the home, and authorities do not believe the shooting was a random act of violence, the release said.
A Cook County Medical Examiner’s office spokesman declined to identify either person pending notification of relatives, but said authorities are investigating the deaths as a possible murder-suicide case.
Police from Burbank and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are conducting what officials are calling a “death investigation” as of late Wednesday.
