(STMW) -- It took firefighters more than two hours to extinguish an extra-alarm blaze at an Auburn Gresham neighborhood warehouse Friday evening on the South Side.
The fire started about 4:30 p.m. at a vacant warehouse in the 1600 block of West 75th Place, according to Fire Media Affairs.
The blaze was elevated to a two-alarm fire about 4:55 p.m. because of heavy smoke and flames, according to Fire Media Affairs. The fire was extinguished about 6:40 p.m.
Medical crews were sent to the scene, but no injuries were reported, Fire Media spokesman Will Knight said.
The CTA rerouted the No. 9 Ashland buses in both directions near the fire.
