CHICAGO (CBS) — It’s time for another Saturday morning test drive. If you’re looking for a compact luxury sport sedan, the Cadillac ATS is a standout.
Perfect timing. I get to test drive a sport sedan and we get snow.
But wait a minute, this Cadillac ATS is all wheel drive. Combine that with a two liter fuel efficient turbo and you’ve got a great winter car.
Named the 2012 North American Car of the Year. The compact ATS has the lightest chassis in its class. The lines of the car are definitely Cadillac…and so is the interior. Red leather in this case with the Cadillac cue system to connect you. A clean design with shifting paddles on the wheel to take advantage of the small 272 hp turbo.
Choose your style. There’s touring. Sport and snow and ice. We tried it and it did great.
But the ATS really shines on a dry day or night. What a nimble car, with great acceleration, brembo brakes, magnetic ride control, and a mileage rating of over 30 mpg highway.
The Cadillac ATS has features like an active noise canceling cabin. Like noise canceling headphones, the Bose system quiets the cabin. There are a bunch of safety features that include adaptive headlights and a heads up display. The Cadillac ATS starts at $33,000.
