(CBS) If you know who New York Times blogger and statistician Nate Silver is, you know how shockingly accurate his predictions can be.
Using mathematics, Silver, who operates the Times’ FiveThirtyEight blog, forecasted how November’s presidential election would shake down almost perfectly.
Now, he’s shifted his attention to college basketball.
By his calculations, Silver gives Louisville a 22.7% chance of winning the NCAA Tournament – the highest of any of the 68 teams. He gives Indiana a 19.6% chance, Florida a 12.7% chance and Kansas a 7.5% chance.
