Woman Killed In Hit-And-Run On SW Side

CHICAGO (STMW) – A 58-year-old woman was killed by a hit-and-run driver while she was walking in the Southwest Side Brighton Park neighborhood Thursday night, authorities said.

Ida Quintanilla was struck by a dark-colored SUV in the 4500 block of South Archer Avenue about 8:40 p.m., police said.

The driver of the SUV fled the scene, police said.

Quintanilla, of the 2600 block of West Montgomery Avenue, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where she died at 9:20 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating.
