Police: Man Killed In Loop Crash
CHICAGO (STMW) — A man was killed when his vehicle crashed into a support beam early Tuesday in the Loop.
The man was driving in the 0-100 block of West Van Buren Street about 3:35 a.m. when he struck a support beam, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
The 26-year-old man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where was pronounced dead, Alfaro said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the man’s death but is not releasing any identifying information until next of kin are notified.
No other cars were involved in the crash and no one else was injured, Alfaro said.
The police Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
