Two Men Wounded In Separate West Side Shootings

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two men were injured in separate shootings on the West Side Tuesday evening, police said.

About 7 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot in the left thigh near the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Throop Street by an unknown suspect, said news Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

He was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County and is in "stable" condition.

At the same time in the 4800 block of West Fulton Street, a 19-year-old man was shot in the right side of his back by an unknown suspect in a car, police said.

He was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park in "stable" condition, police said.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate the shootings.
