Man Fatally Shot In Joliet

JOLIET, Ill. (STMW) -- A 31-year-old man died after he was shot in Joliet on Saturday morning.

Joliet fire officials said a person was shot at 11 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Nicholson Street.

According to Joliet fire Capt. Bob Wohlrab, the victim was shot in a house's backyard.

The victim, identified as Antonio T. Tyler, 31, of Joliet, was pronounced dead at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Will County coroner's office.

Joliet police are investigating. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, though the coroner's office said Tyler was the victim of an apparent homicide.
