Trucker Killed In Rollover Crash In Hickory Hills

HICKORY HILLS, Ill. (STMW) -- A semi driver was killed Tuesday afternoon when his truck rolled over on a tollway exit ramp in southwest suburban Hickory Hills, Illinois State Police said.

The 1998 Truck Tractor semi truck was traveling on the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) when it attempted to exit at 95th Street but rolled over on the southbound ramp about 1:45 p.m., according to an ISP statement.

Roberts Park Fire Protection District paramedics took the driver to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room, state police said.

The driver, identified as Scott Blazier, 49, of the 300 block of Paine Street in South Elgin, was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn at 2:10 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
