Cooper To Miss Rest Of Road Trip
(CBS) As he continues to battle diverticulitis, White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper will miss the remainder of the team's 10-game road trip.
The 57-year-old Cooper has been hospitalized since Tuesday. Upon his release, Cooper will return to his Nashville home to finish his recovery.
Filling in for the missing Cooper will be bullpen coach Bobby Thigpen, with bullpen catcher Mark Salas taking over Thigpen's role.
White Sox minor league pitching coordinator Curt Hasler will join the team Friday in Cleveland to assist in the bullpen.
