Fire Destroys Trucks In Summit

CHICAGO (CBS) — A fire that destroyed trucks overnight in the southwest suburbs is under investigation.

WBBM’s Bernie Tafoya reports, the fire happened in a parking lot where over-the-road truck drivers leave their personal vehicles and pick up their rigs.

The fire was around 51st and Lawndale and could be seen from the Stevenson Expressway near Archer Avenue around 1 a.m.

By the time Summit firefighters arrived, four semi tractor-trailer cabs and a SUV were filled with fire and were destroyed.

The cause of the fire is not known right now.

No one was hurt.
