By Craig Miller-
(CBS) Andre Ward is the WBA and The Ring Super Middleweight Champion of the World. He was recently stripped of his WBC Super Middleweight Title due to inactivity. He has not fought since his defeat over Chad Dawson in September of 2012. After the Dawson fight he had shoulder surgery and has not fought since.
Listen as Ward explains to me why he was stripped of his WBC Super Middleweight Title and what he plans on doing to get it back. He also gives me an update on his injured shoulder and explains when he’ll be fighting and who are some of the potential matchups.
Ward will be calling this weekend’s fights on HBO. Sergio Martinez returns to his hometown of Argentina to defend his title against undefeated challenger, Martin Murray. Plus, Heavyweights Chris Arreola and Bermane Stiverne battle it out in a title elimination bout. The fights can be seen this Saturday, April 27th live on HBO.
