That's All She Wrote: Phil Emery Better Be Right

By George Ofman-

(CBS) It's a playoff game and I'm wondering how a team misses 25-of-26 shots and then I see Brooklyn scrawled on the jersey.

——————-

What's worse: Being posterized by Taj Gibson or being married to Kim Kardashian? Wonder whether Kris Humphires would be honest with that one.

——————-

Was anyone thinking Howie Long when the Bears took their pick in the first round? Kyle Long is his son. He's short on experience but long on baggage. Try drunk driving and drug rehab for starters. All of a sudden, Manti T'eo doesn't look so bad. Long sounds like the type of guy Kenny Williams would have drafted. He did.

——————-

Phil Emery claims Long rates as the No. 1 offensive guard in the last 12 draft classes. Should we all say this in unison? YOU BETTER BE RIGHT.

——————-

Following the marathon attacks, the Boston Bruins long time anthem singer decided to let the crowd get involved. They sang and it was extraordinarily inspiring. I would like to see that happen just once before a Hawks' game. I have a feeling it would be a great hit.

——————-

Forensic officials have determined the Cubs' bullpen was poisoned by Jim Hendry who signed Carlos Marmol to a three-year, $20 million dollar deal. Marmol leads the Cubs in wins. Hawk Harrelson's type of guy.

——————-

Hawk appeared on MLB Now with Brian Kenny who espouses sabermetrics. Hawk thinks they're ahead of their time, kind of like computers. I love the Hawk, but when you dispense with knowledge through progress, you might as well implement your exit strategy.

——————-

Kevin Gregg? Really? Kameron Loe? Thought he starred in "Scary Movie Five." Gregg already starred in a scary movie. It was his first go around with the Cubs.

——————-

Matt Garza has a dead arm. Forensic officials are still looking for Hendry. Shouldn't their investigation include Crane Kenney?

——————-

The pressure is on the Hawks to defend the Presidents' trophy. Three of the last four winners lost in the first round of the playoffs. That said, I like the Hawks to advance to the finals because they have the best all around team, though I wouldn't mind them scoring a few more goals.

——————-

So who wants to trade Joakim Noah for Kevin Love now? The biggest concern is the "foot," which belongs in Duncan Keith's mouth. Something about Vancouver brings out the best and worst in the Hawks. The worst usually happens off the ice. Remember Dave Bolland calling the Canucks' talented twins the Sedin sisters?

——————-

Derrick Rose? NOT! Or is that, not yet.

——————-
Joakim Noah's line that counts: One point. One very big point.

——————-

And I still can't believe the Nets missed 25 of 26 shots.

The 1980 White Sox and Cubs combined for the least amount of victories in a 162 game schedule, only 134 victories. Could that be eclipsed this season? It's certainly possible so long as the Cubs bullpen remains intact and the Sox keep kicking the ball around.

——————-

Speaking of which, he's still Adam Done until further notice.

——————-

And That's all she wrote.
