3 Days After His 2nd Round Draft Selection, Geno Smith Fires Agent

(CBS) The image of quarterback Geno Smith leaving the green room after going undrafted in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft is a lasting one.

Smith reportedly thought he was a top-1o draft pick, perhaps even the No. 1 overall pick.

After being selected in the second round - 39th overall - by the Jets, Smith has fired his agents, USA Today reports.

While Smith said in an interview that his draft position wasn't the only factor in his decision, the proximity of the move in relation to the draft certainly raises questions.

"I don't want to shed too much light on it but it's not because of whole draft experience," he said.

The only quarterback to be selected in the first round was Florida State's E.J. Manuel.
