(CBS) When NBA center Jason Collins came out of the closet on Monday, the 34-year-old veteran received a flurry of both criticism and support.

Most of that criticism pales in comparison to the press release recently sent out by the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas.

The hate-group acting as a church, who operates under the mantra ‘God Hates F***’, is planning to protest the Bulls playoff game against the Nets at the United Center on Thursday evening.

In the press release, the church states they are protesting because Collins has “come out admitting that he’s a proud f**.”
