White Sox Option Veal, Recall Omogrosso

(CBS) After struggling to start the season, the White Sox have optioned left-handed reliever Donnie Veal to Triple-A Charlotte.

In 12 relief appearances this season, Veal, 28, is 1-0 with a 4.26 ERA (3 ER/6.1 IP).

Replacing Veal on the 25-man roster is 29-year-old right-hander Brian Omogrosso.

This season for the Knights, Omogrosso is 0-1 with a 6.52 ERA (7 ER/9.2 IP) and nine strikeouts over seven relief appearances.
