Tebow Named Forbes' Most Influential Athlete Of 2013
(CBS) Despite starting just two games last season, the recently-released Tim Tebow has topped Forbes magazine's list of America's most influential athletes of 2013.
The list, which utilized surveys of U.S. fans by Nielsen and E-Poll Market Research, was released early Monday afternoon.
The unemployed Tebow beat out 2012 Olympic gold-medal winners Michael Phelps (No. 2), Usain Bolt (No. 3) and Gabby Douglas (No. 7).
He also topped fellow NFL players Peyton Manning (No. 5), Drew Brees (No. 6), Aaron Rodgers (No. 8), all of which have led their teams to Super Bowl victories.
