Schakowsky Outraged Over Sexual Assaults In Military

Jan Schakowsky says the most recent headlines about sexual misconduct in the Army and Air Force demonstrate why many such cases go unreported.

"It is especially frustrating when it is people who are particularly assigned to deal with prevention of sexual assault that become guilty of it themselves and so clearly we need some rapid response here and legislation has been proposed to end this epidemic of rape and assault," said Schakowsky.

The Congresswoman says the legislation would take investigations of sexual misconduct out of the military chain of command.
