(CBS) A Florida man has pleaded guilty to fatally stabbing a Bears fan who traveled to Jacksonville to see his favorite team take on the Jaguars in October.

Matthew Reid Hinson, 28, is facing life in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder following an altercation at a bar that left William Pettry dead.

Police said Hinson sliced Pettry’s neck with a pocket knife at a bar after suspecting the 42-year-old Pettry was talking to his wife.

Hinson could receive as little as 20 years in prison when he is sentenced on May 28, but the state is said to be seeking life in prison.
