Report: Danks To Start Friday

(CBS) According to a report from CBS Sports' Jon Heyman, White Sox left-hander John Danks will make his first start of the season Friday against the Marlins.

Danks has made four rehab starts in the minors while working to recover from shoulder surgery he underwent 10 months ago.

In his fourth rehab start Saturday, Danks threw 51 of 95 pitches for strikes, going 4 1/3 innings with four walks and two hit batters for Triple-A Charlotte.

The 28-year-old Danks hasn't pitched in the majors since May 19 of last year.

The White Sox signed the left-hander to a five-year, $65 million deal prior to the 2012 season.
