Cubs Send Camp To DL

(CBS) The Cubs have placed reliever Shawn Camp on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right big toe.

The team has recalled right-handed pitcher Rafael Dolis from Triple-A Iowa.

The Tribune reports Camp was treated for the injury Sunday before telling the team he couldn’t pitch through it. Initially, the club opted to designated reliever Michael Bowden for assignment instead of putting Camp on the disabled list.

After the condition worsened, however, the Cubs elected to officially move Camp to the DL.

The 37-year-old Camp is 1-1 with a 7.56 ERA in 20 relief appearances this season.
