CHICAGO (STMW) — A 17-year-old boy is in serious condition at an area hospital after he was shot multiple times while on the porch of a Humboldt Park home Tuesday afternoon, police said.
About 4:15 p.m. an unknown shooter approached on foot, opening fire on the 17-year-old as he sat on the porch in the 1400 block of North Harding Avenue, police said.
Bullets struck the teen, who has gang affiliation, in the chest, back and leg, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he is in serious condition, police said.
While the teen is affiliated with a gang, investigators have yet to establish a motive for the shooting, police said.
No one was in custody early Wednesday as Area North detectives were investigating.
