Teens Wounded In Separate Shootings

(STMW) -- Two teenage boys were wounded in separate shootings Friday afternoon.

A 15-year-old boy was standing in the 5000 block of West Henderson Street when a white SUV approached and a person got out and shot him about 3:30 p.m., police said.

The teen is a purported gang member who was shouting gang slogans at the passing SUV, which contained rival gang members, a police source said.

The boy was shot in the leg and taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge in good condition, police said.

No one is in custody but detectives are looking for a group of Hispanic men in a white SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Blazer.

In an unrelated shooting in the South Shore neighborhood, a teenage boy was shot in the arm about 1:50 p.m. in the 1400 block of East 75th Street, police said.

The boy was taken to Jackson Park Hospital in "stable" condition, police said.
