(CBS) -- Cook County Prosecutors have charged four men with murder in a cold case from 14 years ago, reports WBBM's Nancy Harty.
Four Men Charged With 1999 Broadview Murder
Shortly after Darryl Green was kidnapped from his Broadview electronic store and shot execution style in Gary in June of 1999, police stopped one the men now charged, Kevin Mitchell, and found Green's DNA in Mitchell's van according to a spokeswoman for the Cook County State's Attorney office.
"This was just a matter of tying up all of the corroborative evidence available and sort of piecing it together in order for us to have enough charges in order to approve murder charges against these men," said Sally Daly.
Daly says Mitchell, along with Dimeyon Cole, Menard McAfee and Raymond Winters have been charged. McAfee and Winters are currently serving prison terms on other charges. Daly says all four are or have been gang members.
