CHICAGO (CBS) — At the Coffee Fest trade show at Navy Pier – after surviving five elimination rounds, the last two baristas standing squared off on who had the better design in the “Latte Art” competition.

Three minutes to make magic on the top of a latte.

“That design is the one I can control when I get nervous.”

Jennifer Chun is a barista in LA.

“I don’t want to take a risk, so I’ve been practicing the same design. More than 200 cups every day for the past three weeks.”

Her competitor in the latte art finals: a young man from Japan, who has a signature design.

“It’s called ballerina, which is pretty beautiful and requires high technique. But I didn’t expect him doing that at the final. So I just did my usual.”

First prize is $2000 and second prize is $1000.
