CHICAGO (CBS) — Illinois’ Attorney General says she hasn’t made her mind up yet about running for the job now held by Pat Quinn, reports WBBM Political Editor Craig Dellimore.
Honored at a Rotary Club meeting, Lisa Madigan was peppered with questions from reporters: Is she running for governor? Can she comment on suggestions It would be difficult for her to run the state if her father, House Speaker Michael Madigan, were still in office.
“I could, but it is premature for me to do so. Like I have told you, I am seriously considering running for governor and when I announce I am running for governor if that is my decision we can have handle all of those exciting questions then,” said Madigan.
Madigan was willing to talk about the accomplishments of her office and says the people of Illinois are more interested in results than in the start of another campaign.
