(CBS) Playoff hockey games in general take a long time to complete.
Add in two and a half 20-minute overtime periods and you’re looking at almost five hours of hockey.
That’s exactly what happened in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins on Wednesday night.
As we all know, Andrew Shaw’s goal more than halfway through the third overtime period sent the Blackhawks to a 1-0 series lead.
But as a result of the extra playing time, fans of Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon were deprived of their late-night comedy talk shows.
Some of them took to Twitter to express their frustration:
WHY IS A HOCKEY GAME PLAYING OVER JIMMY FALLON I DONT WANT TO SEE MEN PLAYING HOCKEY I WANT TO SEE JIMMY FALLON'S ADORABLE SMILE ON MY TV—
