1 Dead, 1 Wounded in Austin shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting late Friday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.
Shots were fired during a fight between a group of males about 11 p.m. in the 5500 block of West Quincy Street, police said.
McGregory Porter, 24, suffered a gunshot wound to the eye and was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, authorities said. Porter, of the 5900 block of West Iowa Street, died at 11:34 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
A 23-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and listed in "stable" condition at Mount Sinai Hospital, Gaines said.
No one was in custody as Area North detectives investigated.
