Police: Boy, 16, Killed In Humboldt Park Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A teen died after he was shot multiple times in the West Side Humboldt Park neighborhood late Saturday, police said.
The shooting happened about 11:45 p.m. in the 4100 block of West North Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
The boy, 16, was walking through an alley when a gunman rode up on a bicycle and opened fire, Greer said. The teen was struck in the arm and back, and collapsed down the block from where he was shot.
He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he later died, Greer said.
Police said the shooting is thought to be gang-related.
