Man Molests CTA Bus Driver On Southwest Side

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 33-year old has been charged with molesting a CTA bus driver on board a bus in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood on Wednesday.

WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya reports the driver told police a man approached her while she was standing outside at the CTA bus turnaround at Archer and Neva avenues around 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said Gabriel Hayes, 33, allegedly exposed himself to the driver at the turnaround, and made an inappropriate comment.

He then boarded her bus, and allegedly exposed himself again, then molested her as she was driving.

The driver ordered Hayes to get off the bus, and called police. Officers arrested him in the 7100 block of West Archer Avenue.

Hayes has been charged with criminal sexual abuse and aggravated battery of a transit employee.

He was due in court Thursday afternoon.
