CHICAGO (CBS) — A man has been charged with stealing dozens of grave markers from Chicago area cemeteries.

Authorities charge he swiped two dozen bronze vases from graves from two cemeteries–Randhill and Shalom Memorial Park.

Vincent Peterson was taken into custody on Friday and charged with felony theft.

The Cook County Sheriff investigators say they caught he red-handed, still wearing a Shalom cemetery t-shirt where he used to work.

He had 14 vases in his car and allegedly had recently sold another 10 at a recycling center.

He sold them for $7, far less than their $300 value.
