CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 19-year-old man has been charged with fatally shooting a man in Roseland last month.

Police said Devonta Williams, of the 5300 block of South Bishop Street, was charged Thursday with first-degree murder.

Williams allegedly shot 34-year-old Michael Kizer outside the victim's home in the 0-100 block of West 107th Street on May 29, authorities said.

According to police, witnesses identified Williams as the gunman.

Kizer was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died less than an hour after the shooting, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Williams was scheduled to appear for a bond hearing Thursday afternoon.
