(CBS) Quarterback Everett Golson says he plans on returning to Notre Dame after being suspended for the fall semester for called poor academic judgment.
Golson told a reporter from WPDE in South Carolina that he plans on returning to Notre Dame in the spring.
“I’ve been working out, keeping my head up. I’ve had a little adversity but I’ve learned you can’t sit down and just take that, you got to pick yourself back up and keep going forward and continue doing what you were doing and everything is going to work itself out in the end,” said Golson.
Golson had helped the Irish go 12-0 during the regular season and get to the national title game against Alabama in January.
Quarterback Tommy Rees has been named the starting quarterback by Head Coach Brian Kelly.
