CHICAGO (CBS) -- Tonight, Chicago Police are trying to catch a rapist and, they think they have a good idea about who might have attacked a woman who was waiting for a bus early Monday morning.

They've released these photos of the suspect. CBS 2's Brad Edwards was at the gas station where those photos were taken, at Western Avenue and Augusta Boulevard in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood.

The photos show a man in a green shirt, green shorts, a cigarette in his ear. Brad Edwards spoke with the clerk who came face to face with him, who said it was his first time there and that he bought a lighter.

Police were at the gas station dusting the glass for potential prints. He's suspected of beating and sexually assaulting a woman daybreak Monday -- took the victim from a bus stop enclosure to a gangway.

"I hear it on the news my son said watch out mom," said Anna Byrski.

It's all so worrisome to her.

"I have an 18-year-old granddaughter living here, of course we're scared. I thought it was getting better, but I don't know. This is scary.

This is one of a number of potential assaults in the area. Police hoping those to images lead to their big break.

Anyone with information on the attack should call detectives at (312) 747-8380.
