(STMW) — Two lanes of southbound I-55 in the southwest suburbs will be closed to traffic on Saturday to accommodate pavement repair work.
The Illinois Department of Transportation says that, weather-permitting, repairs to the pavement on southbound I-55 from Cass Avenue to Route 126 will take place Saturday.
The repairs will require that two lanes be closed along that portion of the highway beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday until about 2 p.m., IDOT said.
Drivers are urged to pay close attention to signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
