2 Shot In Englewood

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two men were injured when gunfire erupted in the Englewood neighborhood early Wednesday.

One of the men told police he was walking in the 7000 block of South Emerald Avenue when a group of three males approached him about 3:30 a.m., police said.

One of the three then pulled out a gun and fired shots at the 26-year-old man, striking him with a bullet in the leg, police said.

That man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Police said they were uncertain how the other man was injured, though he was shot at the same time and place as the first shooting victim.

That man, also 26, was taken in good condition to Saint Bernard Hospital.

No one was in custody as Area South detectives investigated.
