(CBS) The Blackhawks begin their quest for their third Stanley Cup Final victory in five seasons on October 1 at the United Center.

Their first challenge will be defeating the Capitals, who come to town as the Blackhawks raise their new championship banner.

In addition to releasing the schedule for the 2013-14 season, the NHL announced the names of the new, realigned divisions. The Pacific and Central divisions will be in the Western Conference and Metropolitan and Atlantic in the Eastern Conference.

The Hawks will play in the Central Division along with the Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators, St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets.
