1 Dead, 2 Wounded On SW Side

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man is dead and two others were wounded after a gang related incident early Sunday in the Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Two men were struck by a vehicle attempting to flee and another man was stabbed during a fight at 3:20 a.m. in the 5700 block of South Central Park Avenue, police said.

A 23-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene and a 20-year-old man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital after both were struck by a vehicle, police said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the fatality but would not immediately release the name of the victim pending family notification.

A 25-year-old man was taken in stable condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn after suffering a stab wound, police said.

Multiple people are being questioned as Area Central detectives are investigating. No one has been charged.
