New Andersonville Fest To Have Local-Only Focus

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Just when you think Chicago could not handle any more neighborhood festivals comes one with a very different focus.

New Andersonville Fest To Have Local-Only Focus

Ellen Shepard from the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce says the neighborhood that stages the popular Midsommarfest every year decided to develop a new festival dedicated to all things local.

Shepard says the first Andersonville City Made Festival will be unlike most other neighborhood street festivals.

She says the festival will feature, "only beers that are brewed in Chicago, and only bands that are from Chicago and only artisans that are from Chicago."

It's set for the weekend of September 21, and it will give visitors a chance to talk to brewers and artists while checking out their products. Shepard described it as being smaller and more intimate.

"It's like getting to know your neighbors," she said.
