Police: 1 Dead, 1 Hurt In Near North Side Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) — One man was killed and another hurt in a shooting on the Near North Side early Sunday.

The shooting occurred in the 500 block of West Pearson about 4 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.

A 25-year-old man was dropped off at Northwestern Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound, where he later died, police said. He was identified as Donald Lewis, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

A 23-year-old man was also shot in the leg and treated in good condition, also at Northwestern.

Circumstances surrounding the shooting were not yet known as Area Central detectives investigate. No one is in custody
